Chained Night 11
Colleen read over the extremely brief letter again, folded it back into the envelope, and left the shop. She needed to tell Clairis.
Clairis’s house was located on the opposite side of town. The streets around the area were not as clean as the ones near the market district and Colleen’s house. The residential buildings were packed tightly together as they were built in a time where the city had run out of space and the population of the capital was reaching capacity.
Colleen walked the sloped, narrow street. The ground was uneven and she found it difficult to walk naturally. A very dry, musty smell sat in the stale air.
